Frenchman Peak is short on the map and serious on the rock. Descent is the harder part. Wet or mossy granite is the turnaround, not a “careful” continue. There is no mid-climb bail-out.
Not walked for this date — planning from Explore Parks WA / DBCA public pages. Confirm live alerts, fees and track status before you travel.
Turn-around cues
Slick first slabs. Wind that makes the upper rock feel like a slip. Anyone using hands more than expected. Behind the clock for a daylight reverse. Electrical weather — the summit cave is not a hut.
What to do instead
Drive a bay. Walk Thistle–Lucky if it is dry enough for Class 3. Save the dome for a morning with grip.
Who should not start
Very young children, anyone unsteady on rock, people who need formed paths or reliable phone reception, and anyone without water. The walk sits in a 1080 baiting area. No dogs.

Is it Class 4 or 5?
Listings vary. Treat it as a hard, exposed granite short walk either way, and confirm live official wording.
