Cape Le Grand National Park map
Last reviewed · orientation only — not walked; verify Explore Parks WA maps and alerts
These embeds are for orientation only — not a park-boundary or trail-difficulty app. Official park maps, alerts and track notes always win. Start at Explore Parks WA — Cape Le Grand National Park and DBCA park alerts. How long you need on the ground: plan your visit. Pick the pin that matches the day — Lucky Bay is not the whole park.
Best map for…
Plain English, not GIS. Pick the pin that matches the day you actually have.
First timer / Lucky Bay parking day
Start at the Lucky Bay pin. If the lot is full, use Hellfire or Thistle — do not invent verge parking or a beach 4WD “gap”.
Frenchman Peak granite morning
Trailhead picnic area, not Lucky Bay. Wet or mossy slabs are a reverse. Pair with one bay after, not a Class 5 Coastal Trail section.
Quieter bay / Plan B
Hellfire first when Lucky Bay is a zoo. Thistle Cove if you want the whistling rock and the short Class 3 walk.
Walking tracks
Use this site’s trails hub for named walks, then Explore Parks WA / alerts for grade, distance and open/closed. These embeds are not a trail app.
Lucky Bay
First-timer pin. Sealed 2WD from Esperance. Car park fills in peak — Hellfire / Thistle are Plan B, not a verge wait. Orientation only.
Interactive map — pin may be approximate. Confirm trailheads and road status before you drive.
Frenchman Peak (Mandooboornup)
2WD trailhead / picnic area off Frenchmans Peak Road. Short hard granite — wet rock is a turnaround. This is not the Lucky Bay car park.
Interactive map — pin may be approximate. Confirm trailheads and road status before you drive.
Hellfire Bay
Usual overflow when Lucky Bay is full, and a Class 5 Coastal Trail trailhead. The beach stop is not the same day as Hellfire–Thistle Class 5.
Interactive map — pin may be approximate. Confirm trailheads and road status before you drive.
Thistle Cove
Whistling rock and the Class 3 Thistle–Lucky Coastal Trail slice. Vehicle points both ends. Do not add Hellfire Class 5 “because it’s next door”.
Interactive map — pin may be approximate. Confirm trailheads and road status before you drive.
Le Grand Beach
West bookend of the Coastal Trail and the quieter 14-site campground. Mt Le Grand behind the dunes is not a marked family walk.
Interactive map — pin may be approximate. Confirm trailheads and road status before you drive.
Esperance (gateway town)
Last town for fuel, food, medical and drinking water. The park is 30–45 minutes east on sealed road. Perth is not this pin.
Interactive map — pin may be approximate. Confirm trailheads and road status before you drive.
